Dec. 16, 2016

Winter is here in Egg Harbor, as we wrap up the last few days of the Holiday season. While the holidays will soon be gone, winter is going to stay for a little bit longer. Make your travel plans this season to one of Door County's leading resorts. The Landmark Resort has everything you need for the best winter vacation.

Vacation planning can be a daunting task and winter planning can be even worse. We know that while it’s hard, we’re here to help you have the best vacation ever. Enjoy our tips and tricks for vacation planning this winter.

  • Bring basic items that you can layer
  • Grab an extra set of clothing (in case you get wet from snow and want to change)
  • Don’t forget snacks for long travel
  • Make sure you have your entertainment for the plane or car ride
  • Have fun in the snow!

Whether you’re going to be traveling by car or plane, you’re going to want to bring the right type of clothing. Layering items is a good idea for any winter vacation. Along with that, basic items are important to have. Depending on how long you stay with us, you’ll want to bring a few pairs of pants and plenty of tops. Did you know that if you have 16 pieces of clothing, you can make roughly 40 different outfits? That’s a lot of options for a couple days stay with us! If you know you’re going to spend a lot of time outside. You might want to double the amount of clothes you bring (or just bring a few extras in case).

Your carry on or a bag for the car is also important. You’ll want to bring the essentials, such as your license, cash/cards, your phone, and travel information. It might be helpful to print out directions to the Landmark Resort. This will help to not waste battery life on your electronics. You might also want to have some toiletries on hand. When in need items like tissues, medication, chapstick, hand sanitizer, and moisturizer can be helpful. Make sure to pack some entertainment as well. Books, magazines, electronics with chargers, headphones, and notepad/pen are all great ideas.

Don’t forget to pack snacks for your trip. You won’t want to get hungry on the plane or in a car. You can divide larger snacks into smaller, individual snack packs for the whole family to enjoy. Try making your own version of trail mix with some nuts, dried fruit, and a little bit of chocolate. This sweet and salty snack is sure to be a big hit.

No matter if you like to roll, fold, or bag your clothes, we’re sure you’ll have a blast here at the Landmark Resort this winter season! Door County makes for a wonderful winter getaway this season the whole family will enjoy.
